DIN 934 Brass Hex Nut

Hexagon nut, standard / finished (ISO 4032) — machined in brass CW614N to standard and to your drawing.

Home / Products / Standard Parts / Brass Nuts / DIN 934

A DIN 934 nut is a standard full-height hexagon nut (height about 0.8×d); DIN 934 has been superseded by ISO 4032 (coarse) / ISO 8673 (fine), with which it is dimensionally near-identical and interchangeable. Brassland machines it from free-cutting brass CW614N (CuZn39Pb3) — or lead-free CW724R — to the standard and to your drawing, as part of our brass nut programme.

Dimensions in mm to DIN 934. Widths across flats follow the current ISO series (M10/M12/M14 = 16/18/21 mm; older DIN editions used 17/19/22 mm). Sizes and tolerances are made to your drawing on request.

Applications

Typical applications for the Brass Hex Nut include general machine and equipment assembly, plumbing and brass fitting bodies, electrical earthing/bonding lugs, panel and enclosure fixings, and decorative or marine hardware. As all parts are made to order, sizes, threads, plating and certification are tailored to your specification.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between DIN 934 and ISO 4032?

They are effectively the same nut. DIN 934 was the original German standard; it has been superseded by ISO 4032 (coarse pitch) and ISO 8673 (fine pitch), and the dimensions are interchangeable. Brass nuts supplied as “DIN 934” today are made to the current ISO across-flats.

What spanner size fits a DIN 934 M10 nut?

A DIN 934 / ISO 4032 M10 nut has a 16 mm width across flats, so it takes a 16 mm spanner (older DIN editions used 17 mm).

What is the height of a DIN 934 hex nut?

Roughly 0.8× the thread diameter — for example 8.4 mm at M10 and 14.8 mm at M16. See the datasheet above for the full table.

Can DIN 934 brass nuts be made lead-free?

Yes. The standard alloy is CW614N (CuZn39Pb3); a lead-free silicon brass (CW724R) is available for RoHS-sensitive or potable-water applications.
