Brass Nuts to DIN / ISO · Jamnagar, India
Hexagon castle / slotted nut (cotter-pin) — machined in brass CW614N to standard and to your drawing.
Home / Products / Standard Parts / Brass Nuts / DIN 935
A DIN 935 nut is a hexagon castle (slotted) nut whose six crown slots accept a split (cotter) pin through a cross-drilled bolt, giving positive mechanical locking against loosening; it corresponds to ISO 7035. Brassland machines it from free-cutting brass CW614N (CuZn39Pb3) — or lead-free CW724R — to the standard and to your drawing, as part of our brass nut programme.

Dimensions in mm to DIN 935. Widths across flats follow the current ISO series (M10/M12/M14 = 16/18/21 mm; older DIN editions used 17/19/22 mm). Height m includes the slotted crown; six slots accept a DIN 94 split pin. Sizes and tolerances are made to your drawing on request.
Applications
Typical applications for the Brass Castle (Slotted) Nut include wheel-bearing and axle/spindle retention, steering and suspension joints, clevis and pivot pins, and any safety-critical joint needing positive, vibration-proof locking. As all parts are made to order, sizes, threads, plating and certification are tailored to your specification.

Frequently asked questions
A split (cotter) pin passes through the slots in the nut crown and a cross-hole drilled in the bolt, mechanically preventing the nut from turning — it does not rely on thread friction.
Yes — DIN 935 corresponds to ISO 7035 (the harmonised castle-nut standard).
Six radial slots in the crown, sized to pass a DIN 94 split pin.
Yes — the mating bolt must have a cross-hole so the cotter pin can pass through both the slot and the bolt.
