Sourcing & Supply

Supplier profile

What we machine, how fast it ships, and what documents come with it

Brassland has machined precision brass components in Jamnagar, Gujarat since 2000. That is now 230+ people across 60,000+ sq ft, running 79+ CNC machines — including 28+ Swiss-type sliding-head lathes from Tsugami and Star. Nuts are bar-fed, turned, drilled, milled and thread-cut in our own shop. Where a blank is forged rather than turned from bar, the forging is produced at a qualified partner forge and finish-machined here; there is no in-house casting.

We supply components to OEMs, fastener distributors and assembly houses — we do not build or sell finished valves or assemblies.

A note on material claims: lead-free and DZR are properties of the alloy, not product approvals. CW724R / C69300 meets the lead-content limit referenced by NSF/ANSI 372, and CW602N resists dezincification per ISO 6509. Potable-water approval of your finished product (WRAS, NSF 61, Kiwa, EU 2020/2184) is held by you as the product owner — we supply the machined component and its material evidence.

Which brass nut types do you manufacture?

The catalogue covers 15 DIN/ISO types plus the ANSI B18 inch series — hex (DIN 934), thin, tall, flange, cap, dome, castle, square, round slotted, coupling and knurled nuts. Custom nuts are machined to drawing alongside the standard range.

What thread sizes and material do you cover?

Standard coverage runs M2 to M36 metric, with ANSI inch equivalents in the B18 series. Nuts are machined from CW614N (CuZn39Pb3) free-cutting brass per EN 12164; DZR and lead-free grades are available where the application requires them.

Do you make brass nuts in American UNC / UNF inch threads?

Yes. Every nut type is available in American inch threads — UNC coarse and UNF fine — from #4-40 up to 2½″, machined to ASME B18.2.2 and B18.6.3 (with B18.11 small-pattern). BSW/BSF, BSP, NPT and left-hand inch threads are made to order. See the inch dimension table above for widths across flats.

What plating options are available?

Natural brass, nickel, zinc and tin plating are standard options. Plating choice depends on the mating hardware and the corrosion environment — see the surface finishes guide; we’ll advise at quotation stage.

Can you make custom nuts to our drawing?

Yes — all production is made to order. Send your drawing or sample with thread size, quantity, plating and certificate requirements and we respond within 24 hours with pricing and lead time.

What is your minimum order quantity for brass nuts?

There is no strict MOQ. First orders typically start from around 1,000 pieces per size and type, which is where setup and tooling are covered sensibly — prototype and sample quantities are run below that before production is released. High-volume OEM schedules are produced on the same lines, so a part that starts at sample quantity does not have to move elsewhere when it scales.

How long is the lead time, and how quickly do you quote?

Production lead time is 3–5 weeks from an approved drawing. Prototypes and first-article samples are made sooner. Quotations typically go back within 24 hours once we have the nut standard or drawing, thread size and pitch, alloy, plating, quantity and destination — send them here.

Which certificates and inspection documents ship with the order?

Every shipment carries an EN 10204 3.1 mill certificate — Type 3.2 on request — together with a Certificate of Conformity and a dimensional inspection report against the controlled characteristics on your drawing. Brassland is certified to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 by DQS, and parts are supplied RoHS and REACH compliant with SVHC disclosure on request.

Which Incoterms do you ship on, and from which ports?

Incoterms 2020 DDP, FOB and CIF are standard; EXW and DAP on request. Shipments load through Mundra, Pipavav, Kandla or Nhava Sheva. HS codes 7415, 7412 and 7419 apply depending on the part and are confirmed on the invoice. Brassland exports to more than 40 countries and holds Star Export House status from the Government of India.
