Overview

Why Brass for Cable Grippers?

Cable grippers secure, anchor, and protect cables where they enter enclosures, panels, conduit, or structural supports. Brass is the material of choice across the industry for its combination of strength, corrosion resistance, machinability, and electrical conductivity.

Electrically Conductive
Brass provides natural EMI bonding continuity between cable screen and panel enclosure — for EMC bonding in screened installations.
🌊
Corrosion Resistant
DZR and silicon brass grades resist seawater, UV exposure, and outdoor weathering — far superior to zinc alloy alternatives.
🔧
High Strength
Machined solid brass grippers withstand high cable pull-out forces — essential for suspended cable runs and dynamic load applications.
🏭
Machinable at Volume
Brass cuts cleanly and quickly on CNC lathes — enabling tight tolerances, complex profiles, and competitive pricing at scale.

Types of Brass Cable Grippers We Manufacture

All types manufactured to your drawing or to standard DIN/IEC profiles. Custom cable diameter ranges, thread forms, and flange configurations on request.

🔩

Single Entry Compression Gripper

The most common type — threaded body with compression cone and locknut. Grips cable by radial compression as the nut is tightened. Used in panel entries, junction boxes, control cabinets, and conduit terminations.

Manufacturing Process

From Brass Rod to Finished Gripper

Every component of a brass cable gripper is precision-machined on our CNC Swiss and turn-mill centres from certified CW617N or DZR brass rod.

1
Bar Stock & Material Cert
Certified brass rod received with full material test certificate. Chemical composition verified to BS EN 12164 / 12167 before production starts.
2
CNC Turning — Body
Gripper body turned in a single operation on sliding-head CNC. External thread, internal bore, hex flats, and seating face all to ±0.02 mm.
3
Cone & Nut Machining
Compression cone and locking nut turned separately on CNC lathe. Cone angle and nut thread matched precisely to the body specification.
4
Inspection & Plating
Full dimensional check on profile projector and CMM. Nickel plating applied where specified. Parts 100% gauged on thread and bore before dispatch.
