DIN 6334 Brass Coupling Nut (3×d)

Hexagon coupling / connector (long) nut — machined in brass CW614N to standard and to your drawing.

Home / Products / Standard Parts / Brass Nuts / DIN 6334

A DIN 6334 nut is an elongated hexagon coupling (connector) nut about 3×d long, used to join two externally threaded fasteners — typically two threaded rods — end to end; there is no ISO equivalent. Brassland machines it from free-cutting brass CW614N (CuZn39Pb3) — or lead-free CW724R — to the standard and to your drawing, as part of our brass nut programme.

Dimensions in mm to DIN 6334. DIN 6334 was not superseded by an ISO standard and retains the classic widths across flats (M10/M12/M14 = 17/19/22 mm) — unlike DIN 934 hex nuts, whose ISO successor ISO 4032 uses 16/18/21 mm. l = overall length (coupling / connector nut, about 3×d). Sizes and tolerances are made to your drawing on request.

Applications

Typical applications for the Brass Coupling Nut (3×d) include joining or extending two threaded rods or studs, suspended-ceiling and cable-tray drop rods, adjustable tie-rod assemblies, and connecting brass studding. As all parts are made to order, sizes, threads, plating and certification are tailored to your specification.

Frequently asked questions

What is a DIN 6334 coupling nut used for?

To join two externally threaded rods or studs end to end, or to extend a thread — it is fully threaded through its ~3×d length.

How long is a DIN 6334 nut?

About 3× the thread diameter — e.g. 30 mm at M10 and 48 mm at M16.

Can a DIN 6334 nut join two different thread sizes?

No — a standard coupling nut has the same thread the full length; different-thread connectors are a custom part.

Is there an ISO equivalent to DIN 6334?

No current ISO standard matches it; DIN 6334 dimensions are used as the industry reference.
