What we offer

More than brass, when your part needs it

Some applications call for the light weight of aluminium or the conductivity of pure copper. We turn finished components from a focused, proven range of both — not a full alloy catalogue, but the grades our customers actually specify, held to the same tolerances and finish standards as our brass work. We machine parts from bar; we don't sell bar stock.

Turned in 6061 & 6063

Aluminium is roughly one-third the weight of brass with excellent corrosion resistance and a clean anodised finish — ideal where mass, not conductivity, drives the design.

C11000 (ETP)

Electrolytic-tough-pitch copper is ≥99.90% pure with ~100% IACS conductivity — the choice when a part must carry current or heat that brass cannot.

Choosing a material

Aluminium or copper instead of brass?

If your priority is…ChooseWhy
Light weight / pneumaticsAluminium 6061/6063~⅓ the density of brass; strong-to-weight; anodisable
Electrical / thermal conductivityCopper C11000~100% IACS — far above brass; ideal for terminals & EV
Machinability, threads & DZRBrass (core range)Best all-round machining, thread strength & water suitability

Note: aluminium and copper need galvanic-compatibility care in mixed-metal assemblies. We'll advise on the right grade for your application.

What we machine in aluminium & copper

Aluminium

Pneumatic & instrument bodies · enclosures and housings · heat-sink bases · brackets and mounts · spacers and bushes · knobs and handles · lightweight fittings.

Copper

Busbars and busbar connectors · terminals and lugs · EV battery & HV contacts · earthing studs and bonding bars · thermal / heat-spreader parts.

All made to your drawing in the grade you specify — we machine components, not finished assemblies; assembly and any approval remain the buyer’s.

Capability

Same precision lines, different metal

Aluminium and copper parts run on the same CNC turning and milling equipment as our brass components, with the same in-process inspection. Tooling, speeds and feeds are tuned per material; finishing (anodising for aluminium, plating for copper) is arranged on request.

FAQ

Aluminium & copper — common questions

Do you machine aluminium and copper as well as brass?
Yes — on the same CNC and Swiss-type turning lines, made to your drawing. Brass is our core; aluminium (6061/6063) and copper (C11000) are machined to the same tolerances and in-house inspection.
Which aluminium and copper grades do you machine?
Aluminium 6061 and 6063, and copper C11000 (ETP). We machine the grades customers actually specify, not a full alloy catalogue.
Why choose copper C11000 for electrical parts?
It is at least 99.9% pure with about 100% IACS conductivity — far above brass — so it suits busbars, terminals and EV contacts that must carry current or heat.
Can you anodise aluminium or plate copper?
Yes, through qualified finishing partners with our QC oversight: clear, colour or hard anodising for aluminium; tin, nickel or silver plating for copper.
How does copper machinability compare to brass?
Pure copper is gummy and work-hardens, machining at roughly 20% the rate of free-cutting brass. We tune tooling, speeds and feeds for it, and the longer cycle is reflected in the price.
Is there a minimum order for aluminium or copper parts?
We handle prototypes through to high volume — bar-fed CNC and Swiss machines make both economical. Send your drawing for a quote.
How do you handle galvanic compatibility in mixed-metal assemblies?
We advise on grade and plating to manage galvanic risk; final validation of the assembled product is the buyer's responsibility.
