Brassland is a precision brass and copper component manufacturer in Jamnagar, India, supplying turned and milled parts to HVAC, refrigeration and climate-control OEMs in 40+ countries. We machine refrigerant valve and expansion-valve bodies, distributor heads, SAE 45°/37° flare fittings, Schrader access-valve parts and manifold blocks — compatible with R32, R290, R410A, R454B, R744 (CO₂) and HFO blends — from CW617N brass (bar stock and forged blanks; forging is outsourced, no casting) and C11000 copper for tubing parts. Every part is made to your drawing on Swiss-type and CNC machines and inspected in-house — we machine the brass components, not finished valves. ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certified. Precision Parts for Valve & Hydronic Assemblies

A significant share of our HVAC and heating work is build-to-print machining of the brass components that go inside OEM valves and hydronic fittings. We do not manufacture finished valves — we machine the parts that our customers assemble, seal, test, calibrate and brand. Those customers include manufacturers of hydronic balancing valves, thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs), pressure-independent control valves (PICVs), heating-circuit manifolds and drinking-water safety groups.

Typical machined components for these assemblies include valve bodies and bonnets, spindles, stems and TRV/lockshield inserts, pressure/temperature test-port and drain-cock bodies, manifold bodies, tail-pieces and connection nipples, pressure-reducing and check/cartridge housings, and compression & union fittings. We turn and mill these from CW617N, CW614N free-cutting and CW602N DZR brass to tight, repeatable tolerances (down to ±0.01 mm on critical seats), with controlled sealing faces and surface finish for reliable, leak-tight operation in the finished valve.

Our role. Brassland machines and inspects the brass components to your drawing — EN 10204 3.1 material certificates, thread/gauge checks and CMM verification on critical dimensions. Valve assembly, functional and pressure testing, calibration and any product approvals are carried out by the valve manufacturer.

Why Brass & Copper for HVAC/R

The default materials for refrigerant-carrying components — for sealing, brazeability and refrigerant compatibility.

❄️

Refrigerant Compatible

Brass and copper are inert to HFC/HFO refrigerants (R-410A, R-32, R-454B, R-134a, R-1234yf) and POE/PAG oils — the industry-standard wetted materials.

🔥

Brazeable & Leak-Tight

Copper-tube (ODS) ends braze cleanly; machined seats and O-ring grooves give repeatable, leak-tight joints that hold deep vacuum and high-side pressure.

⚙️

Free-Machining at Volume

Free-cutting brass turns fine flare seats, threads and bores fast — economical for the high volumes HVAC/R OEMs run.

🛡️

Corrosion & Pressure

Good corrosion resistance in indoor/outdoor units; DZR grades for humid/coastal duty. Ductile under pressure cycling — no brittle failure.

HVAC & Refrigeration — Frequently Asked Questions

Which brass and copper alloys do you use for HVAC/R components?
CW617N (CuZn40Pb2) for general valve bodies and fittings; CW614N (CuZn39Pb3) for small, high-volume precision parts such as Schrader bodies and charging ports; C11000 (Cu-ETP) copper for brazed ODS / sweat connections; and CW602N DZR brass where humid or coastal corrosion resistance is needed. We match the grade to the refrigerant and the operating environment.
Which refrigerants are your brass components compatible with?
Brass and copper are compatible with common HFC and HFO refrigerants — R-410A, R-32, R-454B, R-134a and R-1234yf — and with hydrocarbon refrigerants (R-290, R-600a). R-744 (CO₂) is application-specific because of its very high transcritical pressures and needs a design review. Brass is not recommended for ammonia (R-717), which attacks copper alloys — use steel or stainless there.
Do you manufacture finished valves or just the components?
We machine the brass component bodies and parts to your drawing — we do not assemble or sell finished valves. Valve assembly, sealing, functional and pressure testing, calibration and any product approvals are carried out by the valve or equipment manufacturer.
What tolerances, finishes and plating can you achieve?
Tolerances are held by process: Swiss-type turning to about ±0.01 mm on critical seats, CNC turning/milling to IT6–IT8 (±0.02–0.05 mm). Surface finish Ra 0.4–1.6 µm, with fine seat finishes for sealing. Nickel and tin plating are available to your specification via qualified plating partners.
What is your minimum order quantity and typical lead time?
There is no strict MOQ — first orders typically start from around 1,000 pieces, and we support high-volume HVAC production of 10,000+ pieces per month. Typical lead time is 3–5 weeks from approved drawing; prototypes and samples are usually quicker.
What documentation and testing do you provide?
EN 10204 Type 3.1 mill certificates as standard (3.2 third-party witnessed on request), a Certificate of Conformity, and dimensional inspection reports. Pressure, leak and helium testing are available on request, and we supply RoHS and REACH declarations with commercial orders.
What file formats do you accept for a quote?
STEP, IGES, DXF or a dimensioned PDF drawing. Send your geometry, alloy, tolerances, plating and annual volume and we respond within 24 hours with a competitive, itemised quote.
