Brass Screw Plugs to DIN · Jamnagar, India
Hexagon-head screw plug, taper (self-sealing) thread — turned in brass to standard and to your drawing.
Home / Products / Standard Parts / Screw Plugs / DIN 909
A DIN 909 screw plug is a hexagon-head sealing plug with a taper (conical) thread that seals on the thread itself — the external-hex counterpart of the socket-drive DIN 906 — used to close oil, hydraulic and pneumatic ports where a spanner gives higher tightening torque. Brassland machines it from free-cutting brass CW614N (CuZn39Pb3) to the standard and to your drawing, as part of our screw plugs programme.

DIN 909 — engineering drawing (Brassland).

Dimensions in mm to DIN 909. The conical thread seals without a ring (a sealant may be added). Head width across flats s shown to DIN ISO 272 (older DIN 475-1 widths differ for some sizes). DIN 909 is the hex-head counterpart of the socket DIN 906.
Applications
Typical applications include closing oil, gearbox, hydraulic and pneumatic ports where higher tightening torque is wanted, blanking unused threaded openings on manifolds and valve blocks, and engine and gearbox drain/fill points. All parts are made to order, so size, thread, finish and certification are tailored to your specification.

Frequently asked questions
No — the taper (conical) thread seals on the thread itself; a thread sealant may be added for fluids.
DIN 909 has an external hexagon head (tightened with a spanner, higher torque); DIN 906 has an internal hex socket (flush). Both use a taper thread.
A taper (conical) thread — pipe thread R to DIN 3858 (R 1/8–R 1½) or metric taper to DIN 158 (M10×1–M48).
