DIN 2353 Brass Cutting-Ring Tube Fittings

24°-cone cutting-ring (bite-type) tube fitting — turned in brass to standard and to your drawing.

Home / Products / Standard Parts / Tube Fittings / DIN 2353

DIN 2353 (ISO 8434-1) is the standard for 24°-cone cutting-ring (bite-type) compression tube fittings — a fitting body, a union nut and a cutting ring that bites into rigid tube to seal it without welding or flaring; Brassland turns the brass bodies and union nuts for pneumatics and brass/copper-tube lines. Brassland machines it from free-cutting brass brass (CW614N / CW617N) to the standard and to your drawing, as part of our tube fittings programme.

Tube-OD ↔ union-nut thread to DIN 2353 (ISO 8434-1), L (light) and S (heavy) series; threads verified against two independent sources. The union-nut thread is metric fine and some threads appear in both series, so the tube OD must be measured. The 24° cone is per DIN 3861. Brass bodies and union nuts (and stud-ends, see DIN 3852); the cutting ring must out-harden the tube and is a bought-in hardened-steel component.

Applications

Typical applications include pneumatic and low-pressure hydraulic lines, instrumentation and gauge connections, and brass or copper tube runs where a brass fitting body and nut are wanted. All parts are made to order, so size, thread, finish and certification are tailored to your specification.

Frequently asked questions

What are the parts of a DIN 2353 fitting?

Three parts plus the tube: the fitting body (with the 24° cone), the union nut, and the cutting ring that bites into the tube as the nut is tightened.

Which parts can be made in brass?

The body and union nut are routinely brass (as are the stud-ends, ports and plugs). The cutting ring must be harder than the tube, so it is a bought-in hardened-steel component.

What is the difference between the L and S series?

L (light) is for general / medium pressure; S (heavy) is for high pressure with thicker walls and larger nuts. Some threads appear in both series, so measure the tube OD to tell them apart.

Is DIN 2353 the same as ISO 8434-1?

Yes — ISO 8434-1 is the international equivalent of DIN 2353; the 24° cone geometry is per DIN 3861.
